Music tuition blog and updates

Video tuition success!

Firstly, I'd like to give a huge thank you to everyone who has continued their music education with me using the power of the internet - I clearly work with a lot of dedicated people!

For the first time in my 18 years of delivering music education, I have given lessons on electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, ukulele, piano and music theory over the internet from my own home. I was quite unsure whether this would be possible, or if it would provide value for students but I have received some excellent feedback - many thanks for your input, everybody.

I feel confident that the technology I use (Macbook Pro, Logitech C920 Webcam, Tascam US122MKII USB Audio Interface and Rode NTG2 microphone) and the adjustments I've made to my delivery allow me to continue to provide an excellent education service.

Some exciting news for all exam candidates: Rockschool have for the first time made video exams available to all candidates entering exams, which are available to book now! I am keen to learn more about the submission and marking process and will no doubt be able to assist you in the preparation and the recording of your submissions.

Considering these new developments, I am keen to get back to the studio in the coming months so I can set up a dedicated online video tuition station. I will then be able to offer virtual lessons to anyone on the planet, or even to students who usually visit the studio but may one time find themselves unable to attend in person.

To everyone, whether you have lessons with me or not, keep your passion for music alive and continue to work hard on your preparations for the upcoming exam season.
